HOUSING
The housing needs of the leopard gecko are quite simple.
It can be as elaborate or as easy as you would like.
A ten gallon aquarium will work well for a single gecko. While a twenty gallon long will nicely house three geckos.
I suggest a substrate (floor covering) that cannot be eaten.
Paper towels, newsprint, reptile carpeting or slate tile all work well.
A humid or moist hide should be available to aid with shedding. This hide should be placed on the warm side of the tank.
Any hiding location can be used as a moist hide simply by adding a moist paper towel.
Moisten it daily or every other day. Change the towel once a week or when soiled. A dry hide should also be available. This can consist of anything that the gecko can hide in to feel safe and unseen. A water dish and a food bowl and your all set. To heat the aquarium you can use an under tank heater that can be adjusted via a rheostat. One portion of the tank should be kept at room temperature, while the side with the heat source should be somewhere between 88 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit.
FEEDING
Leopard geckos are mainly insectivores. The primary diet can consist of crickets, mealworms, silkworms, roaches, superworms or phoenix worms. All feeder insects should be gut loaded. Feeding the crickets or mealworms 24 hours before you feed them to your geckos. The insects should be fed carrots, potatoes, oranges, collard greens, or any other nutritious fruits or vegetables. This way when you feed them to your geckos they are packed full of good vitamins and protein. The crickets and mealworms should be dusted with a calcium supplement every feeding and with a multivitamin every two weeks. Mealworms can be left in the food bowl with calcium in it at all times. Crickets can be offered daily or every other day but you should remove all uneaten crickets so they do not bother your gecko while it sleeps.
